DeliaSoule’s Mission Statement:Formed in August 2018, the creation of DeliaSoule came by sheer accident. The owner, Odelia Francis started to create products as a form of therapy. Experiencing a life-threatening surgery to her mother suffering from a stroke a month later – she needed a balance where her life did not seem as turbulent. Once becoming a DIYer by researching on YouTube, Odelia began to create different concoctions to help with hyperpigmentation under her chin area. It became an ongoing series of trial and error, considering her problem areas were stemming from both hormonal and chemical imbalances.Within two years of creating products, Odelia came across bitter apple, an AHA that exfoliates dead skin and enhances skin rejuvenation. Taking a leap of faith, she then formulated a nighttime facial wash that did show a difference in the problem areas within two weeks, and a significant difference within two months. It even improved the appearance of ingrown hair bumps under the chin. The love of researching natural resources stemmed from both of Odelia’s parents being into holistic remedies and as the birth of DeliaSoule rose –she began to incorporate into each handmade product created. Initially, the products were for her personal use until garnering the opportunity to present her items at a pop-up event in which became successful by selling out.  What once became a hobby for Odelia, transitioned into a small business in March of 2021. Once taking the business seriously, Odelia began researching different extracts that focuses on conditioning and hydrating the skin as well as enhancing the skin into a smooth texture. The most interesting aspects of different extracts originates from different countries, such as South Africa, South America, and Brazil.For example, one of the main ingredients used in several of the products – watermelon extract (South Africa) – provides a smooth texture to the skin and has several nutrients such as: vitamin c and amino acids. With the combination of both, it reduces the appearance of fine lines and dry flaky skin. Watermelon extract is compatible with all skin types at a low comedogenic rate, that does not over produce excess sebum or irritants.Another favorable ingredient is passion fruit extract. Originating from South America, the purpose of this exotic ingredient is that it conditions the skin and serves an antioxidant. Fueled with vitamin a (retinol) & c alongside calcium which produces skin renewal and reduces the appearance of aging and texture.Product wise and one of the best sellers for DeliaSoule is their signature body butter also known as soule butter. The unique aspect of this product is timing. Upon whipping the product with a machine, it is followed by a prolonged series of hand mixing. The process at times may take 24 hours to produce a lightweight and silk consistency where the product can be used in any weather condition. As the mantra of ‘love & soule’ is often stated, the true meaning behind it derives from the extensive time, emotion, and energy placed onto each product. Though it may be a habitual statement, DeliaSoule prides itself on having a positive spiritual atmosphere surrounding each ingredient and will not create anything if the owner is not spiritually aligned at that time. Each product is spiritually cleansed and prayed over before shipping to the customer. Every item is personalized for every customer and creates a bond by hand-writing personal motivational ‘thank you’ cards upon every shipment.The way Odelia feels about her products and noticing changes of her imperfections, she wants to create products that produces the same or even better results from others.
