What is ByBlack?

The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. and American Express are proud to present the newly enhanced ByBlack Platform. The platform is an extensive national Black business directory developed by the U.S. Black Chambers (USBC). And now, with the support of American Express, it also includes the first national certification exclusively for Black-owned businesses. ByBlack is designed to provide Black entrepreneurs a way to reach new customers and get access to valuable business resources.

How is American Express involved in ByBlack?:e%

American Express is providing resources and investment to the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. to enhance the ByBlack platform and launch the first national certification exclusively for Black-owned businesses. This certification is offered at no-cost. American Express is also using ByBlack to continue to expand its diversity-supplier commitment while also helping encourage other companies to do the same.

Why are the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. & American Express collaborating on ByBlack?

ByBlack is part of both the efforts of the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. & American Express’ to support Black-owned businesses. American Express is committed to providing access to capital and financial education to at least 250,000 Black-owned small and medium-sized businesses in the U.S. by the end of 2024, as part of a $1 billion action plan to enhance diverse representation and promote equal opportunities for colleagues, customers and communities. What types of businesses join ByBlack?

ByBlack hosts an extensive national directory and sponsors the first national certification exclusively for Black-owned businesses. Any Black-owned business owner can create a business profile that becomes publicly searchable after our team verifies its information. To onboard your business to ByBlack’s directory, you may begin your application Navigate to “/signup”.here. Certification is available to eligible onboarded businesses — specifically those that specify at least 51% Black ownership and have been founded over a year ago.
